Thanksgiving in Morocco

We arrived at the 2Ciels Hotel in Marrakech and celebrated with a Moroccan dinner!

Monday November 25, 2024

Today we wandered the medina of Marrakech before touring the Bahia Palace and the Jardins Majorelle. At night we went back to the medina for a food tasting tour!

Tuesday November 26, 2024

Today was the big day. We woke up early to catch our sunrise hot air balloon before driving toward the desert. We stopped for lunch (that we cooked ourselves, under the guidance of Chef Tarik) before settling into our glamping accommodations in the Agafay Desert. Our day ended with a sunset camel ride, a beautiful dinner (which we counted as our Thanksgiving) and late-night talks around the campfire.

Wednesday November 27, 2024

We left the desert for the coast, stopping at the Val d’Argan winery along the way. Arriving in Essaouira, we settled into the Hotel Atlas.

Thursday November 28, 2024

This morning we were joined by a local guide to show us around Essaouira, including Bayt Dakira, the Jewish “House of Memory.” In the afternoon we divided up and explored/shopped/ate our way through the Medina.

Friday November 28, 2024

After a drive back to Marrakech, we unwound at the hammam before enjoying a one-of-a-kind dinner/theater experience at Palais Dar Soukkar.

Saturday November 29, 2024

We said our farewells and headed back to the real world!
